ministries to serve your needs and help you grow

MINISTRIES

SUNDAY SCHOOL

The Sunday School meets at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday. All children and adults are welcomed at Sunday School. We also encourage everyone to invite friends as we continue our efforts to build our numbers and strengthen our ministry. We invite everyone to join us, and if you are the parent of a young child, a special invitation is extended to you. Take your child to his/her class and please stay for the adult class.

USHERS/HOSPITALITY

The Duty and Responsibility of the Ushers are to greet and assist all members of the Church Family in a welcoming fashion. Our duties also include seating visitor’s and assist members of the church family in any way possible. The services of the Ushers include greeting members and newcomers once service starts help and assist our Elderly members to the restrooms, collecting the offering and assisting in the Audio-Visual Team.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

The Fundraising Committee has been committed to the purpose for which it was founded. We are a group that work together very hard to make each event as successful as possible. We meet on Tuesdays at 7:30pm. To as many that would like to join this group, you are welcome. Come join, bring new ideas.

MISSION & SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE

This is a small ministry of Prince of Peace Moravian Church that serve the Church Family and the Residents of Miami Gardens. We meet every 2nd Sunday after worship services. Throughout the year there are four (4) major events: After Easter Picnic, Mission Festival & Love Feast, Thanksgiving Basket and Angel Tree.

STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE

The Stewardship Committee was re-energized this year with the addition of three new members. In its ongoing effort to provide steward education to the congregation, the Stewardship Committee presents a two minute ‘Moment of Stewardship’ message on the last Sunday of each month. However, in October (Stewardship Month), weekly messages are presented. The committee seeks to involve a broad cross-section of the church and as such the presenters of the messages are selected from the committee, the congregation and the youths. The Committee is very much open to persons who may wish to volunteer to present a message or stewardship related testimony.

GOSPEL CHOIR

The Prince of Peace Moravian Gospel Choir started in February 1990 by Sister Verona Brown Tennyson. We were the first to introduce percussion instruments to this congregation. Since then, we had been doing our best to keep this ministry alive. Please remember that the invitation is always open for new members, others returning and guitarists. The guitar remains a favorite instrument of the Choir.

PEOPLE ACTING IN COMMUNITY TOGETHER (PACT)

Our congregation is one of 39 congregations, synagogues, masque and universities that are building a strong Justice Ministry in Miami-Dade County under the banner of PACT. PACT unites, organizes and trains leaders to build a powerful community voice. The power of large numbers of organized people is what wins commitments from our public officials to solve the serious and urgent community problems. It is because of your involvement that we were able to obtain great victories.

SENIOR CHOIR

The dedicated group of choir members continue to give time and effort to enhancing the worship service every Sunday. We present full anthems as much as possible. It is easy to use track music and reduce the time spent on rehearsals, but the beautiful music and message of the anthems would be lost.

YOUTH BAND

WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP

The Prince of Peace Women’s Fellowship meets every third (3) Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. The Purpose of the group is to unite all women of the Moravian Church in Christian fellowship to make Christ known throughout the world and to develop a personal responsibility for the whole task of the church.

Junior Choir

The Junior Choir meets every Friday at 7pm for rehearsal. The choir has an active part in the regular Sunday Worship as scheduled by the church programs. The Junior Choir members join other youth in the church for various activities such as Mission and Social Action Weekend, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The members appreciate your support and welcome new members. Just come on Friday evening at 7pm.

SENIORS'CLUB

The aim of the senior’s Club is to provide a safe and caring environment for seniors. The senior’s club meets every Tuesday from 9am – 3 pm, except for the month of July. Our membership consists of members from Prince of Peace and seniors from nearby community churches. There’s no fee for attending the senior’s club, however donations are welcome. All seniors are welcome.
